Product Owner

Chelsey Schaffel

Chelsey has been managing people, projects, and digital assets in various capacities since 2003. At the office, she spends her days wrapped up in budgets or project plans, writing user stories, meeting with designers, testing websites or apps, demoing features to clients, collaborating on strategy projects, or sneaking in a well-deserved coffee break.

With a background in Fine Arts, Chelsey is trained to approach problems from unconventional angles, and believes there is a solution to every problem - you might just have to get creative to find it. From projects with DirectWest, to the Government of Saskatchewan, this mentality has served her well. In her own words, “This role presents me with new challenges every single day, and I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes from solving problems, especially as part of a team. I’m always trying to find ways to grow my “Product Owner Toolkit” so that I can leverage what I’ve learned on past projects and from other POs, to solve new problems more effectively and efficiently.” And this toolkit is indeed expanding, with Chelsey pursuing professional development in the areas of usability and human-centred design processes.

Away from the office, Chelsey helps out on the family cattle farm, and devotes time to equine studies. She also volunteers her hours as a synchronized skating official, and puts her creative energy to good use by staying ahead of the trend in hair design. If Chelsey were a hashtag, she would be #pizza.
