Dan Surkan

After spending years as an IT Manager, Dan realized his calling from the world of development, and has been with zu since 2014 as a backend web developer.

On a day-to-day basis, Dan concentrates his efforts on developing new features, perfecting page displays, integrating external systems, and constructing backend configurations. He is a Drupal master, and has had the opportunity to apply these skills in the development of websites for the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, City of Saskatoon and Saskatoon Transit.

Dan enjoys being creative in his work, discovering new and interesting ways for project goals to be accomplished. In his own words, “I enjoy making things work. Coming up with well-thought plans and following through with them to create a high quality end product is what I strive for.”

In the wee hours of the weekend, Dan will already be on the bike trail with dogs at his side, heading for breakfast at a small cafe. If you catch him on the way there, be sure to ask for a demo of his hidden talent. If Dan were a hashtag, he would be #reliable. Good ol’ reliable Dan.
