In the early days of her career, Mellary worked as an inhouse designer and social media marketer, later moving on to traditional advertising in branding, print, web, and TV. She joined zu in 2014, and jumped into designing wireframes, working on visual design concepts and style guides, and creating graphics to accompany marketing deliverables and reports.
Mellary is known for her illustrative work, sound problem solving, and ability to create user-friendly interfaces with a style tailored to each client’s branding. Most recently, she has applied these skills in projects for Canadian Lentils, City of Saskatoon, and PotashCorp. Mellary intends on growing her professional toolkit by digging deeper into the world of animation, dedicating time to experimenting with After Effects.
Outside of work, you could find Mellary taking a stroll down Broadway, or cozied up under her latest surface pattern or knitting project. She hopes to soon widen her personal interests from icebergs (what?), walking, and tea, to include an updated illustrated personal card line. If Mellary were a hashtag, she would be #tastefulhoarderforlife.
