Cam arrived at zu in 2011 with a plethora of development and IT skills. At the office, he spends his days writing and refactoring code, running business analysis, technical strategy, and liaising between zu teams and clients.
Cam’s greatest strength is the blending of strong software development skills with “soft skills,” demonstrated in his unique ability to bridge the communication gap between developers and non-technical stakeholders. In his own words, “I like writing software, but my greatest joy comes from enabling new business processes or improving someone’s work by giving them better tools, regardless of how it’s achieved. I enjoy architecting applications and choosing the right tools to solve the problem at hand.”
Cam’s projects have included work for the Health Quality Council, where he was pivotal in reducing load times on QualityInsight.ca by an order of magnitude to sub second response times, and the City of Saskatoon, where he ran technical strategy and seamlessly integrated Saskatoon.ca into a number of business systems.
In the summer months, Cam can be found floating in a lake with a craft beer in one hand, and a fly fishing rod in the other, dreaming about his days in the Galapagos.
